The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public meeting for the SR 40 design project from SR 15/US 17 to west of SR 11 in Volusia County.

The meeting will be an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a continuous loop presentation. The purpose of this open house is to present the construction plans of this design project to the public. Project maps, drawings and other pertinent information will be on display for public review. FDOT staff and others associated with the project will be available to discuss the project and answer any questions.

The project involves the widening of SR 40 to four lanes from SR 15/US 17 to west of SR 11. The pro- ject includes milling and resurfacing of the existing roadway to serve as westbound travel lanes and new roadway construction for eastbound travel lanes. Work also includes the construction of four wildlife crossing box culverts and a 12-foot wide, paved, multi-use trail on the south side of the road. The project is not funded for right of way or construction.

Location:  Volusia Lodge No. 77 Free & Accepted Masons (F & AM) is located at Pine Street and SR 40 in Barberville. It is on the north side of SR 40, about 1/4 mile east of SR 15/US 17 between Pine Street and Church Street.
