The Volusia Transportation Planning Organization (VTPO) is seeking a qualified firm for professional services to complete an assessment of the US 1/SR 5 corridor as part of the Corridor Improvement Program (CIP). The VTPO has amended its Unified Planning Work Program to include a task entitled Corridor  Improvement Program (Task 5.08).  Under this task the VTPO intends to pursue coordinated strategies to identify and  promote specific projects that have been identified and/or recommended from previous studies and/or existing plans.

The Selection Committee met on August 30, 2011, reviewed the submitted proposals and scored each firm based on the criteria set forth in the RFP. Six firms submitted proposals:  Ghyabi & Associates, GMB Engineers & Planners Inc., Kittelson & Associates. Inc., Lassiter Transportation Group. Inc., Tindale-Oliver & Associates and TranSystems. The firms with the top three scores that were shortlisted are Kittelson & Associates Inc., GMB Engineers & Planners Inc., and Lassiter Transportation Group Inc.

The Oral Presentations for the short listed firms took place on Sept 6, 2011 . The VTPO Selection Committee for the (CIP) PHASE I:  Assessment of US 1/SR 5 RFP  evaluated  the candidate firms on the basis of their submittals and presentations.  Kittelson & Associates Inc. obtained the highest ranking based on the total scores and  therefore they will be the firm recommended  to conduct the (CIP) PHASE I:  Assessment of US 1/SR 5 study for the VTPO.

The VolusiaTPO Executive Committee met on September 12, 2011,  and authorized  the  Executive  Director  to  execute  a contract  with  Kittelson  & Associates, Inc. for the (CIP) PHASE I:  Assessment of US 1/SR 5 study.
