The Volusia County Metropolitan Planning Organization (VCMPO) is proud to announce a series of changes that will affect the appearance and image of the organization, though the mission to coordinate transportation system planning remains the same.
Effective July 1, 2010, the local area planning agency will begin operating under the name Volusia Transportation Planning Organization – VTPO. Board members directed the change believing the new name more clearly reflects the primary activities of the organization.
“The designation of TPO is more consistent with mission of this organization and is in keeping with a number of similar organizations representing other planning areas throughout the State” said Karl Welzenbach, Executive Director of the organization.
In addition to the new name, the planning agency will be changing their office space and launching a new logo and website.
