Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement lane closures along Ocean Shore Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) A1A) near East Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach beginning as early as Thursday, May 28.
This work requires temporary daytime detours and traffic shifts to safely accommodate paving operations and construction activities.
During the work, three segments of the northbound and southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard between Standish Drive and East Granada Boulevard will be closed non-concurrently.
Each segment is anticipated to be a three-day operation beginning with northbound traffic shifting to the southbound side of the road during paving. Each segment will reopen at night, followed by a southbound traffic detour on the following scheduled day. Lanes will be open to traffic over weekends.
Please see the anticipated schedule below:
- Segment 1: On Thursday, May 28, Friday, May 29, and Monday, June 1, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between East Granada Boulevard and Neptune Avenue.
Detour information:
- Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
- Motorists traveling southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard wishing to reach East Granada Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Neptune Avenue, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard.
Daytime flagging operations will help guide motorists at the intersection of Neptune Avenue and Halifax Drive and at the two golf course crossings located on the eastern end of Neptune Avenue.
- Segment 2: On Tuesday, June 2, through Thursday, June 4, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Neptune Avenue and Amsden Road.
Detour information:
- Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
- Motorists traveling southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Amsden Road, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard. From there, motorists can turn left to return to Ocean Shore Boulevard.
Daytime flagging operations will guide motorists at the intersection of Amsden Road and Halifax Drive.
- Segment 3: On Friday, June 5, Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., the northbound lanes followed by the southbound lanes of Ocean Shore Boulevard will be closed between Amsden Road and Standish Drive.
Detour information:
- Motorists traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be redirected to the southbound side of the roadway to continue northbound.
- Motorists traveling south on Ocean Shore Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto westbound Standish Drive, turn left onto southbound North Halifax Drive, and then continue south to East Granada Boulevard. From there, motorists can turn left to return to Ocean Shore Boulevard.
