TRANSPORTATION PLANNER –TRANSIT PROGRAM MANAGER

Salary: $41,000 to $62,500 DOQ, plus benefits

The River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization (R2CTPO) coordinates transportation planning and the establishment of funding priorities for local units of government, with input from planning organizations, the business community, citizens and community service agencies.   The organization prides itself in offering a friendly and professional working environment, with collaborative decision-making, flexibility and autonomy. The Tr1ansportation Planner – Transit Program Manager reports to the Senior Planner and is responsible for performing transportation planning activities as assigned, conducting transportation and transit research, and takes the lead in managing transit program planning and oversight.  This position acts as the primary liaison with local transit providers including bus and rail transit, represents the TPO at various meetings and engages in public outreach as needed to seek input on transportation plans and studies.  Applicants must be adept at building strong professional relationships, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.

The R2CTPO office is located in beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida within a short drive to world famous attractions, including the Daytona International Speedway, Kennedy Space Center and Central Florida theme parks.  We serve a population of just over 600,000 people residing in Volusia County and the eastern portion of Flagler County. Our residents represent various ethnicities, abilities and age groups and our communities include rural farm towns as well as growing coastal cities.

Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Business, Public Administration, Economics or a related field with a Master’s degree preferred and at least one-year of experience working in, or with, an MPO/TPO, transit agency or transportation-related organization. Preferred candidates will have experience in traffic modeling, data analysis and ArcGIS software.  An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
