POST IRMA , ONE VOICE FOR VOLUSIA AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS MAKE THE 13th ANNUAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SUMMIT A TRUE GIFT TO THE COMMUNITY

On Friday, October 27 the beautiful Volusia County Ocean Center will open its doors to a no-cost Health and Human Services Summit featuring 80 exhibitors who offer vital services to the citizens of Volusia and surrounding counties. Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to connect with local service providers, determine their eligibility and take advantage of free health screenings, Flu shots, children ID kits and more all in one location.

Exhibitors will feature services covering everything from pregnancy to palliative care and all else in between. To ensure providers and care-givers are receiving up to date training on the top issues facing our community, 17 classes, many with CEU’s , will be offered by local and state experts during the summit. Seating is limited so registration is strongly encouraged at www.ovfv.org.
One Voice for Volusia operates an active coalition of over 100 agencies and organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Harnessing the power of partnership, the coalition pulled together the support over 30 experts to address the toughest issues facing our community; Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, Suicide Prevention, Foster care, our Court Systems and more.

Speakers such as Sheriff Chitwood and the CEO’s of our leading agencies will be tackling the Opioid Epidemic, and DOH-Volusia Administrator, Patricia Boswell, along with Volusia COAD members and community leaders who served during and after Irma will be hosting an Emergency/Disaster Response Dialogue to enhance our current system of care.
To make this a no-cost event for all attendees, active coalition partners like Family Health Source became a Title Sponsor, and ATT, Stewart Marchman Act Behavioral Healthcare, Molina Healthcare, SEDNET, LSF, Magellan Complete Care, DCF, Ponce Inlet Lions Club, Family Wise and Walgreens all came forward to sponsor and support this event. “We all want to make the 13th Annual Health and Human Services Summit a true gift to our resilient community” stated Julie Barrow, Executive Director of One Voice for Volusia.
The doors open from 8 am to 4 pm for those registered to attend the trainings and the exhibitor hall with child finger printing and developmental screenings along with the adult flu shots, and vision, diabetes and blood pressure screenings will be open from 11 am to 4 pm. Those seeking support for disabilities, addiction, youth behavioral issues, transportation, education, employment, senior services, insurance coverage, early childhood services and quality healthcare will find multiple resources. This event is ideal for networking professionals, community leaders, clergy, students and community members alike. The first 500 attendees will receive free parking vouchers in the County garage off Earl street as an additional gift.
