The Volusia Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is seeking public comment on a proposed amendment to the2035 LRTP and FY 2011/12 – 2015/16 TIP which may be considered during the regularly scheduled TPO Board meeting on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 @ 8:30 a.m.

The VolusiaTPO’s adopted 2035 LRTP provides for improvements to the Interstate System in Volusia County.  The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has identified an additional project and a proposed funding strategy to complete the project development and design needed to add managed use lanes to Interstate 4 from the Seminole County Line to SR 472.  Managed use lanes are typically barrier separated lanes that include vehicle tolling.  FDOT has requested that the VolusiaTPO add the design phase of this project to the 2010-2015 timeframe in its 2035 LRTP.  The TIP is required to be consistent with the 2035 LRTP and therefore, must be amended as well.

The VolusiaTPOs Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) and Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) will also review this request at their regularly scheduled meetings in April and will provide a recommendation to the VolusiaTPO Board.

The TPO Board meeting is open to the public and public participation is encouraged.  The meeting will take place in the conference room at the TPO office on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 @ 8:30 a.m.
